Sports Day!

Jumbo Rafiki's! Today was our sports day at Maasai Corner, we had a long day of playing sports and loving on the people of Maasai! We had a lot of different activities for people to all participate in. We had some volleyball going, some badminton, football (soccer). We did lots of bubbles, face painting, and jumping ropes with the children also! While working at Maasai Corner the past couple of days we have run into a lot more of a language barrier. The people at Maasai do not speak as much English as they did at Mbewau. They mainly speak Swahili, and their native tongue of their tribe. It made it harder to have conversations without having a translator at our side the whole time. We were able to see how God can push through that yesterday when a group that went out evangelizing got to talk o a Muslim man. They shared what Christ has done in their life, and he accepted Christ right there! Even with the language barrier God is able to do mighty things! Its hard to believe we only have a few more days here in Africa. We have gotten to see God move in powerful ways, and have gotten to love on so many kids! Today while at sports day a little girl named Lydia stole my heart. She was a very precious little girl, so cute, and so quite. We were all taking pictures of her all day long! She would not smile at all, even when you made a goofy face and said, cheka! (smile). She decided to come sit by me and kept inching closer, she finally ended up in my lap, still not smiling, but loving on me. Finally after lunch I was loving on her some more and playing with her, and i finally got her to laugh and smile! her laugh totally melted my heart, and I was once again able to see how God can work even through language barriers! These past couple of weeks have been amazing, and I am so blessed to of gotten this opportunity! I also want to say hello to all my wonderful kids and coworkers at Southmont! I love ya'll so much, and can not wait to see yall again!

In Christ,
  Kaitlyn Walker
